The Curlew

"The Curlew", a local fishing boat is shown returning to Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia after a day on the North Atlantic.

To the left is a small pleasure boat, an sign of the increasing commercialization of a working fishing village.   The area depicted in this painting is now the site of the large government wharf.

This painting is known locally as "The Hillbillies"; a tribute to the Curlew's colourful owners.
